The day for Year 1 to show off their sporting skills finally came last Friday when they took part in their first ever sports day. The weather was luckily on our side, not too hot and thankfully no rain. After a group warm up, the children then took part in 3 events each before being given the opportunity to choose out of the 'fun' races such as egg and spoon, spider and skipping race.
The competition was fierce and everyone did so well with many children getting personal bests for their throwing and jumping. The sprint races were really close and we had to have 2 semi finals as there were so many quick runners.
Overall the sprint results were: 1st place - Nicholas, 2nd place - Wilf and 3rd place - Jesse.
In the standing long jump the results were as follows: 1st place - Seb, 2nd place - Jesse and 3rd place - Nicholas.
Finally in the bean bag throw the results were: 1st place - Elliott, 2nd place - Nicholas and 3rd place - James.
Well done to everyone who took part, we had a great time and were really impressed with the sportsmanship and attitudes displayed on the day.
